KIRIAKI CHATZISTAVROU

Pediatrician Kiriaki Chatzistavrou is a graduate of the Department of Medicine of the University of Patras, after six years of studying. She did her obligatory rural service  at the Primary Healthcare Center of Livanates. 

She was specialized at the Neonatology Clinic of the University of Athens at Aretaieio Hospital and Basic Pediatrics at the “Tzaneio” Regional General Hospital of Piraeus and attended specialized departments at the “St.Sophia” Children’s Hospital and at the Athens Children’s Hospital “Panagiotis & Aglaia Kyriakou”  (Allergology, Infectious Diseases, Intensive Care Unit, Gastroenterology). She received the title of Pediatrics specialty. From 2014 until today, she is an associate at the Endocrinology Unit of the University of Athens at the Eugenideio Hospital.

In the context of continuing medical education, she participates in Greek and International conferences focusing not only on Pediatric Endocrinology but also on Pediatrics in general.

George P. Chrousos is Professor and Chairman of the First Department of Pediatrics at the University of Athens School of Medicine, Athens, Greece, and former Chief of the Pediatric and Reproductive Endocrinology Branch of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland. He also holds the UNESCO Chair on Adolescent Health Care at the University of Athens and held the 2011 John Kluge Distinguished Chair in Technology and Society at the Library of Congress, Washington DC.

Prof. Chrousos is internationally recognized for his research on the glucocorticoid signaling system of the cell, on the diseases of the hypothalamic‐pituitary‐adrenal axis, and on the physiological and molecular mechanisms of stress. His work has opened new horizons in our understanding of a spectrum of human complex disorders, including depression, the eating disorders, the metabolic syndrome and the inflammatory autoimmune and allergic diseases. His contributions span a range of  medical  disciplines,  including  Medicine,  Pediatrics,  Endocrinology,  Psychiatry, Rheumatology, Allergy, Surgery, Oncology and Reproductive Medicine.

Dr. Chrousos has written over 700 original scientific papers and over 500 book chapters and journal reviews and his work has been cited in more than 67,000 other scientific articles. He is one of the 250 most cited scientists internationally (ISI highly cited) included not only in the list of Clinical Medicine, but also in that of Biology and Biochemistry, and the highest cited endocrinologist and pediatrician in the world. With an H index of 130, Dr. Chrousos is a top cited Clinician and Clinical Researcher.

Dr. Chrousos has received numerous national and international awards and has given many lectures around the world. His awards include the 1987 Richard E. Among others, he is a Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Liege, Liege, Belgium  (2003),  Universita  Politechnica  delle  Marche,  Ancona,  Italy  (2006)  and University of Patras, Patras, Greece (2011). He is an honorary professor of the University of Warwick, Coventry, UK. Ηe was honored with the 2011 Aristeion Bodossaki Award, the highest distinction for accomplishment in the Sciences in Greece. In 2012, he received the Albert Struyvenberg Medal of the European Society of Clinical Investigation (ESCI). He is a distinguished visiting scientist of NICHD, NIH, Bethesda MD, USA. He served as President of ESCI from 2008 to 2011.

Dr Chrousos was inducted as a Master of both the American College of Endocrinology and the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London, UK. He is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Research, the Association of American Physicians, the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences, Washington DC, USA, and the Academia Europaea, London, UK

Prof. Chrousos run one of the best endocrine training programs in the world and fostered the careers of over 60 distinguished, award‐winning, world‐class physician‐scientists. After a 25 year distinguished career in the Intramural Program of the NIH, where he made seminal original contributions and trained a generation of international leaders in Endocrinology, Dr. Chrousos returned to his country and has assumed leadership roles at the University of Athens and in Greek and European Medicine and Academia.

Evelina Panou

Η Εβελίνα Πάνου είναι Παιδίατρος με εξειδίκευση στην Παιδοενδοκρινολογία και Διαβητολογία. Εισήλθε μετά από Πανελλήνιες εξετάσεις στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και υπήρξε κατά τη φοίτησή της υπότροφος του ιδρύματος Γεροστάθη. Εκπαιδεύτηκε στην Παιδιατρική και την Εφηβική Ιατρική στις πανεπιστημιακές κλινικές του Marburg και της Βόννης στην Γερμανία και στη συνέχεια εξειδικεύτηκε για τρία χρόνια στην Παιδοενδοκρινολογία-Διαβητολογία υπό την επίβλεψη του καθηγητή J. Wölfle προέδρου της Γερμανικής Παιδοενδοκρινολογικής Εταιρείας. Υπήρξε συντονίστρια του τμήματος παχυσαρκίας («Durch Dick und Dünn») της Πανεπιστημιακής Παιδιατρικής Κλινικής της Βόννης και συμμετείχε στην εκπαίδευση παιδιών με Σακχαρώδη Διαβήτη και των γονέων και δασκάλων τους. Διετέλεσε για δύο χρόνια επιμελήτρια της Πανεπιστημιακής Παιδιατρικής Κλινικής της Βόννης συμμετέχοντας παράλληλα στη διδασκαλία των φοιτητών της Ιατρικής και της Νοσηλευτικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου. Στο επιστημονικό της έργο περιλαμβάνεται η συμμετοχή της με ανακοινώσεις και διαλέξεις σε γερμανικά, ελληνικά και ευρωπαϊκά συνεδρία και ημερίδες καθώς και η συγγραφή επιστημονικών εργασιών.
Το 2018 επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα μετά από 8ετή παραμονή σε πανεπιστημιακές κλινικές της Γερμανίας και είναι σήμερα ακαδημαϊκή υπότροφος της μονάδας Ενδοκρινολογίας, Μεταβολισμού και Διαβήτη της Α’ Παιδιατρικής Κλινικής της Ιατρικής σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών στο Νοσοκομείου Παίδων «Η Αγία Σοφία».

Kiriaki Chatzistavrou

Η Παιδίατρος Κυριακή Χατζησταύρου είναι πτυχιούχος της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών το 2007 μετά από 6ετείς σπουδές.Υπηρέτησε ως Αγροτικός Ιατρός στο Π.Ι.Λιβανατών, Κ.Υ.Αταλάντης.

Ειδικεύθηκε στην Νεογνολογική Κλινική του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών στο Αρεταίειο Νοσοκομείο.Ειδικεύθηκε στην Βασική Παιδιατρική στο Γ.Ν.Πειραιά Τζάνειο και παρακολούθηκε εξειδικευμένα τμήματα του Νοσοκομείου Παίδων Αγ.Σοφία και Π.&Α.Κυριακού(Τμήμα Αλλεργιολογίας,Λοιμωξιολογίας, Μονάδα Εντατικής Θεραπείας, Γαστρεντερολογίας). Απέκτησε τον τίτλο της ειδικότητας της Παιδιατρικής. Από το 2014 έως και σήμερα είναι επιστημονική συνεργάτης στην Ενδοκρινολογική Μονάδα του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών στο Ευγενίδειο Θεραπευτήριο.

Στο πλαίσιο της συνεχιζόμενης ιατρικής εκπαίδευσης συμμετέχει σε ελληνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια με θεματολογία όχι μόνο την Παιδοενδοκρινολογία αλλά και την Παιδιατρική γενικότερα.

Irene Lambrinoudaki

Dr Lambrinoudaki was born in Athens and graduated from Athens University Medical School. She conducted her Medical Thesis in Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg, Germany on the Epidemiology of osteoporosis in association with endogenous sex hormones. She was trained in Clinical Endocrinology in the Department of Pathophysiology, Athens University Medical School and in the Departments of Endocrinology and Metabolism, in Ruprecht Karls University, Heidelberg, Germany, in Nikaia General District Hospital, Piraeus, Greece and in Queen Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong. Currently she is Professor of Endocrinology in the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Medical School, University of Athens, Greece. She has been responsible for educational, clinical and research activities in her Department since 2000. She has authored 173 publications (May 2018) in peer-reviewed international journals, mainly on gynecological endocrinology, menopause, hormone therapy and osteoporosis. She is President of the Hellenic Society of Climacterium and Menopause, Past President of the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS, 2015-2017), Scientific Director of EMAS and Editor of the journal MATURITAS. She is the recipient of the 2018 Henry Burger Prize which is awarded by the International Menopause Society to the Scientist with the most significant contributions in the field of menopause in the previous five years of a World Congress.

 

 

George N. Landis RD MSc

George Landis is a clinical registered dietitian specialized in pediatric and adolescent obesity and metabolism. He is registered with the Health Care Professions Council UK since 2006 and he is a member of the Hellenic Dietetic and Nutrition Association. He received his BScHons with SRD in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Robert Gordon University, UK and his MSc in Bone Metabolic Diseases from the Medical School of Athens, Greece. George Landis has trained and worked in Manchester Royal Infirmary Children’s Hospital, Sedgefield PCT and London Hillingdon Hospital, NHS, UK, with main clinical experience in the nutritional management-therapy of metabolic syndrome, type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus and the nutritional support of patients with gastrointestinal disorders, pancreatitis and hepatic cirrhosis. In Greece, he has worked for the department of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes of the General Hospital Henry Dunant, and also as a lead dietitian of the nutritional support team for the Palladion Rehabilitation and Recovery Centre. The last eight years he has been working as a clinical fellow for the First Department of Pediatrics Athens Medical School division of Endocrinology and Diabetes and for the Centre of Adolescent Medicine, UNESCO Chair of Adolescent Health, of the “Aghia” Sofia Children Hospital. In the context of his cooperation he has worked as lead dietitian in the design and development of integrated care platforms for the prevention and management of chronic diseases with special interest in diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. He  has been awarded twice with the «Maragos G.» prize of the Greek Society of Adolescent Medicine (G.S.A.M.).

Zoi Siouti

Zoi Siouti (M.Sc., M.Ed.) is a Clinical and Counseling Psychologist, specialized in stress management, planning and implementation of mental health promoting programs. The above mentioned psychologist holds a psychology degree (University of Crete) and five postgraduate diplomas in the aforementioned scientific fields: “Stress Science and Health Promotion” (Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), “Counseling Psychology and Counseling in Education, Health and Work” (School of Educational Sciences of the University of Athens), “Education Sciences: Special Education and Training of Persons with Problems of Oral and Written Speech” (Hellenic Open University and University of Thessaly), “Management of Drug and Behavioral Addictions” (Medical School – University of Athens) and “Aging and Chronic Disease Management” (Hellenic Open University and University of Thessaly).

She has also attended a vast number of seminars and postgraduate courses in psychology and has a proven competency in the administration of psychometric and projective tests. She is also proficient in Braille and holds a postgraduate specialization in Special Education, in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapy and in the E.M.D.R. treatment. In addition, she has conducted a large number of surveys and has participated as a rapporteur in Psychology Conferences, Associations and Schools of Primary and Secondary Education and has worked as a Psychologist in private and public institutions. At the present time she works as an external scientific collaborator – Psychologist at the Department of Clinical and Translational Research in Endocrinology of the Medical School of the University of Athens, at the University of the Aegean, as a trainer in psychology seminars, and as a Psychologist at Child and Adolescent Development Center “Photodentro”.

Ζωή Σιούτη

Η Ζωή Σιούτη είναι ψυχολόγος με εξειδίκευση στην διαχείριση του στρες, στην δημιουργία και υλοποίηση προγραμμάτων προαγωγής υγείας και στην συμβουλευτική ψυχολογία. Αποφοίτησε από το τμήμα Ψυχολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης, λαμβάνοντας το βασικό της τίτλο σπουδών. Συνέχισε τις μεταπτυχιακές της σπουδές στην Ιατρική Σχολή Αθηνών, «Η Επιστήμη του Στρες και η Προαγωγή της Υγείας», του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, και στην Σχολή Επιστημών Αγωγής, «Συμβουλευτική Ψυχολογία και Συμβουλευτική στην Εκπαίδευση, την Υγεία και την Εργασία», του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, από τα οποία αποφοίτησε με άριστα. Πιστεύοντας στη δια βίου μάθηση, η ίδια ολοκληρώνει το τρίτο κατά σειρά μεταπτυχιακό της δίπλωμα στην Ιατρική Σχολή Αθηνών, με τίτλο «Αντιμετώπιση Εξαρτήσεων-Εξαρτησιολογία», του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.

Έχει παρακολουθήσει πληθώρα σεμιναρίων και μετεκπαιδεύσεων στην ψυχολογία, και διαθέτει πιστοποιημένη επάρκεια στην χορήγηση ψυχομετρικών εργαλείων και προβολικών δοκιμασιών. Διαθέτει επάρκεια στην γλώσσα Braille, πιστοποιημένη μετεκπαιδευτική εξειδίκευση στην Ειδική Αγωγή και εκπαιδεύεται στην Γνωσιακή Συμπεριφοριστική Προσέγγιση. Επιπλέον, έχει διεξάγει έρευνες και έχει συμμετάσχει ως ομιλήτρια σε Δήμους, σε Συλλόγους, σε Σχολεία πρωτοβάθμιας και δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης και σε Συνέδρια Ψυχολογίας, ενώ έχει εργαστεί ως Ψυχολόγος σε δομές του Δημοσίου και Ιδιωτικού τομέα.
